Minix Mountain Horse Farms is a small family owned and run farm located in Northwestern Indiana. We are dedicated to the preservation and care of the Rocky Mountain horse. Each member of our herd is cared for as if they are a member of the family.
About Rocky Mountain Horses...
Rocky Mountain Horses are a gaited breed, with a smooth, ambling 4 beat gait. The horse moves with a lateral gait in which one can count 4 distinct hoofbeats that produce a cadence of near equal rhythm. The gait is natural, needing no artificial methods for training, and is present from birth. A gentle, willing temperament is found throughout the breed and everyone who comes across a Rocky is immediately taken in by their charm.
